Behind the Wheel

Since 1983, Lori Martone has had a love affair with creating pottery on a potter’s wheel. Music and creating art go hand in hand.

I love you..ya..ya..ya...

When I was attending college, I was a disc jockey on our college radio station. I was really into all kinds of music! I duplicated my favorite tunes from that time onto cassette tapes. Today, I have those treasured tapes and they are truly my inspiration when I’m working in my studio!

Big wheel keep on turning...

It was in the early 80's when I moved to New Hampshire. I searched for a creative outlet and found the Nashua Arts and Science Center. In my very first pottery class, I sat down at the potter's wheel and miraculously threw a set of bowls! It was love at first turn.

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes...

After years of taking a variety of different classes and private study, I finally invested in my very own potter's wheel and all the supplies to support it. In 2001, I purchased the biggest investment, a kiln! My part time hobby working out of other's people's studios, now became a more serious hobby right in my little garage in Exeter. I made the move!

Working 9 to 5...

My main source of work is my company Medialink, Inc., an advertising and marketing firm in the seacoast of New Hampshire. Pottery, for all these years, has been a part-time affair. Because I produce less volume than a full time potter, I make one-of-a-kind treasures and the most requested pieces by my regular clientele.
